Ozone Therapy

Oxygen is vital to every cell in our bodies. Oxygen allows us to obtain the energy we need to fuel all our bodily processes, from breaking down food to contracting our muscles to healing damaged tissues. “To air is human,” you might say.

So, what if we could harness the power of oxygen and enhance it? For over 150 years, health and medical professionals have been doing exactly that with ozone therapy.

Ozone therapy refers to the medical use of oxygen in the form of ozone gas. By stimulating a natural regenerative response, ozone therapy may help the body remove impediments to its own healing. Benefits have been shown for a variety of health problems ranging from autoimmune diseases to viral diseases.

What Is Ozone Therapy?

Ozone is a highly reactive form of oxygen that consists of three oxygen molecules (O3) instead of the two found in the oxygen we breathe (O2). This form of oxygen can permeate deep into the tissues at the cellular level. Once it is taken up into the cells, it creates an oxidative reaction that activates regenerative processes in the body and destroys any harmful substances or foreign objects.

Ozone can enter the body in different ways. It can be administered directly into the point of pain or disease or into the blood to deliver to cells throughout the body. At the Young Naturopathic Center for Wellness, ozone therapy is part of our IV Therapy Clinic.

What Is the Purpose Of Ozone Therapy?

What is the difference between you at 20 and you at 70? It’s not the creaks you develop in your joints or the strange sounds you eventually find yourself making when you get out of bed — it’s the efficiency with which you utilize oxygen, which is the underlying cause of those creaks and groans.

As you get older, your body does not use oxygen as efficiently as it once did. Aging and its associated diseases are caused primarily by decreased oxygen utilization. Therefore, the key to the treatment and prevention of disease is to enhance your body’s ability to utilize oxygen.

With optimum oxygen levels, your body is better equipped to fight off inflammation, chronic and acute infection and disease, as well as improve regeneration and healing. Ozone therapy induces your body’s innate healing mechanisms to create a healing effect.

How Does IV Ozone Therapy Work?

Ozone therapy is as simple and comfortable as any of our other IV therapies. We recommend eating and being well-hydrated before you come in.

Before the treatment is administered, you will consult with one of our doctors to determine the best treatment approach. Following the consultation, our medical assistant will start by drawing blood (approximately 100-120 mL). They will then put the blood into a machine that mixes in the ozone gas. Once we’ve made sure the ozone is infused into every blood particle, it’s time to reintroduce the blood to your body.

The blood with the dissolved gas is administered through an IV. All you have to do is sit back and relax until it’s done!

Ozone therapy takes about 30-40 minutes. There is no downtime after the appointment.

Can Ozone Therapy Be Paired With Other Treatments?

Modern life demands a lot of us all. We know how hard it can be to keep up and feel energized, even if you think you’re doing everything right for your health. If you’re looking for something to give you an edge, a combination of therapies might be the answer.

Ozone treatments can be combined with any of our IV therapies as an add-on. Adding ozone to your IV treatment can enhance the efficacy of the IV. We have options for immune support, fatigue, stress, metabolism support, low energy levels and more. View our full menu here.

One of our patients’ favorite combinations is ozone therapy with NAD+ therapy. NAD+ infusions can help with mental clarity, concentration, memory function, mood, heart health, metabolism and a variety of other things that help us live well and age gracefully.

“After years of unknowingly being exposed to mold, I experienced brain fog, intense body inflammation, headaches, random bloody noses, and an overall sense of despondency and depletion. It took a serious decline in my health for me to prioritize my well-being. That’s when I discovered YNCW and consulted with Dr. Young. The baseline comprehensive blood work proved invaluable, providing deep insights into areas where my body needed assistance—it was a true game-changer! Through IV Therapy and Ozone Therapy, I’ve witnessed a restoration of my energy, regained confidence in the healing process, and a renewed hope for a healthy and long-lasting future!”Judy J, 60 yr old female patient

How Often Should I Do Ozone Therapy?

Most people start to feel the effects of ozone therapy, such as signs of detox or higher energy, after their second or third treatment, known as a “pass.” Our doctors often recommend completing a series of 10 passes, scheduled once a week for 10 consecutive weeks. In some cases, the treatment schedule can be adjusted to two times per week. Your doctor will discuss your recommended protocol during your consultation.

What Is the Difference Between IV Ozone Therapy and Prolozone?

Prolozone is a regenerative medicine injection made up of ozone and a cocktail of vitamins, minerals and natural anti-inflammatory medications. The combination of these components promotes blood circulation and regeneration for damaged tissues. Prolozone therapy is used to alleviate pain and restore function to damaged tendons, ligaments, joints and muscles.

Unlike IV ozone therapy, which uses the bloodstream to distribute ozone throughout the body, Prolozone is injected directly into the area of pain or injury. The primary symptom that makes a patient suitable for Prolozone is pain.
