Our Residents

Young Naturopathic Center for Wellness is a teaching clinic. Our residents train alongside Dr. Renee Young, NMD, and our doctors, learning to pair rigorous diagnostic work with careful listening to the person behind the lab results.
Your care stays in the same hands. Our doctors oversee every diagnosis and treatment plan, and residents add another set of trained eyes.
Why We Teach
The word doctor comes from the Latin docere, “to teach.” Our naturopathic residency program in Los Gatos puts that original meaning into practice.
Dr. Young has practiced here since 2004 and was one of California’s first licensed naturopathic doctors. Teaching is how that experience gets passed on, and it keeps our own standards sharp. A resident who asks why we ordered a test makes every doctor in the room explain their reasoning.
Residents complete 6 to 12 months of hands-on training with us. A new cohort arrives every six months, so the people you meet here will change. The standard of care won’t.
What Our Residents Learn
Residents train in a working clinic, not a classroom. Lab work without context is just a spreadsheet, and reading that context is what we teach.
- Advanced functional and conventional diagnostics, and how to interpret them together
- IV therapy in our nine-chair IV suite
- Hyperbaric oxygen therapy across our two chambers
- Hormone, metabolic and longevity care, from first consult to follow-up
- Integrative medicine: combining conventional and functional medicine to treat how the body’s systems work together, not in isolation
