Autoimmune Disease Evaluation & Treatment in Los Gatos

If you have felt unwell for a while and every test comes back normal, it can start to feel like nobody is listening. You are not imagining it. Autoimmune symptoms shift, overlap with other conditions, and rarely follow a straight line, which is why they get missed for years.
At Young Naturopathic Center for Wellness, we don’t stop at what’s normal. We ask whether it explains how you feel.
What Autoimmune Conditions Do We Support?
We support people in both the diagnosis and management of conditions such as:
- Hashimoto’s disease
- Graves’ disease
- Rheumatoid arthritis
- Psoriatic arthritis
- Lupus
- Scleroderma
- Psoriasis
- Vasculitis
And related conditions such as fibromyalgia and Raynaud’s.
Who Is This Right For?
Unexplained symptoms are exhausting, and being told everything is fine does not make them stop. This evaluation may fit if:
- You have a diagnosis and want more than a plan for managing the next flare.
- Fatigue, joint pain, brain fog, low-grade fevers, or rashes come and go on their own schedule, and nobody has explained why.
- Autoimmune conditions run in your family, and you’d rather know your risk now.

Autoimmune Conditions Do We Support?
One normal lab ends many appointments early. Here, it’s where we start.
Identifying and treating autoimmune disease has been one of our specialties since the clinic opened in 2004, and we are doctor-owned and operated. Thyroid autoimmunity, including Hashimoto’s, is among the most common conditions we see.
Your first visit runs 60 minutes and covers your history, the symptoms that feel connected, and the ones that seem random. Labs are selected to answer a specific question about your case, and the provider who ordered them reviews results with you.
From there, we adjust the plan as your condition changes. No reintroducing yourself every time a flare shifts things.
“I am an attorney (i.e., a trained skeptic)… In a mere two visits, Dr. Young figured out what three medical specialists and a GP couldn’t figure out after a dozen visits.”

How Do We Evaluate Autoimmune Conditions?
Autoimmune activity does not stay in one place, so a single test rarely settles the question. Depending on your history, your workup draws from:
- Immune markers: ANA, rheumatoid factor, anti-CCP, immunoglobulins, complement proteins.
- Inflammation: CRP and ESR, for the kind that refuses to settle down.
- Blood, metabolism, and thyroid: CBC, metabolic panel, thyroid hormones and antibodies.
- Nutrients: B12, folate, iron, zinc, magnesium, selenium.
- Going deeper: food sensitivities (190 Combo Panel, 189 foods plus Candida), gut and microbiome (GI-MAP), heart markers (hs-CRP and IL-6), hormones, genetics, and cancer screening where your history calls for it.
What Does an Autoimmune Care Plan Include?
Every therapy below is delivered by our Naturopathic Doctors, and the right tool depends on what your labs actually show.
| Approach | What it does | Where it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Nutritional protocols | Autoimmune elimination diets that find and remove your food triggers. | Guided by food sensitivity testing, including the 190 Combo Panel. |
| GI protocols and botanical formulas | Customized botanical products may be discussed as part of an individualized wellness plan. | When a licensed provider feels digestive-health support is appropriate. |
| IV nutrients | High-dose vitamins, minerals, and amino acids to reduce oxidative stress. | When symptoms are active and the labs make the case. |
| Hormone therapy | May be considered when a licensed provider identifies a hormone-related need. | Guided by hormone testing, as in Hashimoto’s and Graves’. |
If Your Condition Requires a Biologic
Biologics stay with your rheumatologist or gastroenterologist. We work alongside them as your co-management partner:
- Before you start: we optimize gut health, liver pathways, and nutritional status ahead of an immunosuppressive regimen.
- During treatment: individualized nutrition and lifestyle support may be discussed in coordination with the treating specialist. Botanical products are not represented as reducing biologic side effects or infection risk.
- Throughout: functional blood panels tracking inflammation markers like CRP and ESR while you are on the biologic.
For anything else beyond our scope, we refer within our specialist network.
