Early Monitoring for 50+ Cancers

Led by Dr. Renee Young, our Los Gatos clinic offers the Galleri multi-cancer early detection blood test. Galleri is designed to look for a cancer signal associated with multiple cancer types and to help identify where the signal may be coming from. It is not a diagnostic test, and results should be reviewed with a healthcare provider alongside appropriate follow-up testing – at which point further diagnosis can take place.

This is something that we recommend anyone over the age of 50 years testing annually. Alternatively, if you have had a family member with cancer, we recommend annual testing from five years prior to the age they were at diagnosis – e.g. if your mom was diagnosed with breast cancer at 45, you should start screening at 40.

A single blood draw provides precise insights, and our team guides you with targeted follow-up and clear next steps.

Early cancer detection is vital for increasing a patient’s chances of successful cancer treatment and survival. Unfortunately, many cancers are already in advanced stages when they are detected.

The YNC Approach to Early Cancer Detection

At YNC, we focus on proactive, personalized care that targets the root cause and supports long-term health. The Galleri test is an important part of this approach.

It helps us detect cancers that standard screenings often miss, including those that are hardest to catch during the early stages.

Galleri adds precision and scientific rigor to cancer screening, giving you information you can act on.

Dr. Renee Young and our team guide you through every step, from your first consultation to reviewing results, with clear, evidence-based advice tailored to you.

“71% of cancer deaths come from cancers that aren’t routinely screened. Galleri closes this gap and gives you actionable information you can trust.” Dr. Renee Young

About GRAIL and the Galleri Test

GRAIL, a leader in early cancer detection, developed Galleri to find cancer signals at their earliest stages. Their lab is CLIA-certified and CAP-accredited, meeting the highest U.S. standards.

Backed by research with over 100,000 participants and validated in multiple clinical trials, Galleri is trusted by doctors nationwide as a reliable tool for proactive cancer screening.

What is the Galleri Multi-Cancer Detection Test?

Galleri is a blood test intended to screen for a cancer signal across multiple cancer types and, when a signal is detected, provide information about the likely tissue of origin. It does not detect all cancers and may not detect cancer in all people. A licensed clinician can help determine whether the test is appropriate and explain next steps based on results.

The test analyzes tiny fragments of tumor DNA (ctDNA) in your blood. Each fragment carries unique methylation patterns, like a “fingerprint. We also have tests that use “PCR” as a means of detecting cancer, such as with precision epigenomics.

Using advanced sequencing and machine learning, Galleri can detect these signals even from small tumors. If a signal is detected, Galleri can also predict the most likely tissue or organ of origin.

That means our team can guide you to the right follow-up tests quickly and efficiently.

“When I looked at my own data, the biggest long-term risk factor I saw wasn’t cholesterol or blood sugar—it was cancer risk. Genetically, that’s my weak spot. So instead of pretending I’m immune because I eat well and lift weights, I made early cancer detection a core part of my personal health strategy.” Dr. Renee Young

Why We Chose the Galleri Test

Routine screenings cover just five cancers, yet most cancer deaths come from cancers that aren’t routinely checked. Galleri changes that.

Developed by GRAIL, a leader in precision oncology, and validated in studies with over 111,000 adults, Galleri detects circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) even at the earliest stages. This helps cancers to be identified sooner, when treatment is most effective.

  • 87% accuracy in identifying the location of cancer
  • 50%+ of cancers detected were in early stages (I or II)

Early detection increases treatment options and survival rates, making Galleri a cornerstone of our doctor-led, science-driven approach to long-term health.

What You Should Know Before Taking the Test?

The Galleri test is a powerful screening tool, but it works best as part of your regular health plan.

Important points to keep in mind:

  • Continue routine screenings like mammograms, colonoscopies, and Pap tests as recommended
  • A negative result does not completely rule out cancer
  • Positive results require follow-up testing for confirmation
  • The test does not detect every cancer type
  • This test is not for people under 21, those who are pregnant, or those who are currently undergoing cancer treatment
  • A prescription from a licensed healthcare provider is required

Our team will walk you through all of this so you know exactly what to expect.

Take Control of Your Health with Early Cancer Detection

Cancer can develop silently for months or years. Galleri screens for over 50 cancers early, when treatment options are broader and survival rates are highest.
